VIDEO: Gift Orban stunner hands Gent win over Anderlecht

Young Nigerian striker Gift Orban continued his fine form for KAA Gent as he scored the lone goal for his side in their 1-0 win over RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League. Orban has now scored four goals in six appearances for his side since joining in January.

Orban, who joined Gent in January, has quickly distinguished himself as a key player for the club as they pursue European qualification. He also played a pivotal role in helping the side progress in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Playing against a struggling Anderlecht side at home, Gent needed a win to remain in contention for a playoff place in the league.

After a drab first period, the home side took the lead just before the hour mark through the 20-year-old Orban. The youngster was found by a long ball from defender Alessio Castro-Montes before cutting in on his right foot and unleashing a curling effort that dipped under the crossbar at the top corner. It was his third league goal in five appearances for the side.

Anderlecht finished the game with ten men after former Napoli and AS Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara was sent off in the 76th minute following two bookings.

For the second time in his short Belgian League career, Gift Orban was the match winner for Gent, having also netted the winner against Westerlo. The side are now only one point outside of the Championship playoff places.
