Hooliganism Over Pampered In Nigerian Football.

There is no room for violence in football . Hence cases of Hooliganism and violent conduct should at all times be met with severe sanctions against defaulting persons and clubs.

Sadly , Hooliganism and violent conduct is over pampered in Nigeria and allowed to grow. The ugly trend reached a new low with the harassment of a Referee by the Kano Pillars Fc Chairman.

A club Chairman !!!!

The head of the club who should be an example to other officers at the club, players and fans. Nigerian football league bodies have fed hooliganism with politically influenced decisions and inconsistent handling of cases.

This evening , the League Management Company released it’s decisions on the Kano Pillars Fc vs Dakkada Fc incident of Thursday 23rd June 2022 . Aside the decision to expel Alhaji Yahaya Janbul for his attack on the assistant referee, the LMC is at the end of public condemnation for what football fans and stakeholders term as ” The usual thing”.

The usual thing which involves monetary sanctions for various breaches . This has failed to stop this negative trend. It is now a usual thing to beat Referees, attack opponents, Journalists etc afterall  a fine will be given to be paid by the government. Let’s not talk about football being run by the government here.

The mild response to the Kano Pillars Fc incident today berthed attacks on Referee Patience Nweke by players of J Atete Fc after their 0-1 defeat to Ekiti United Fc at their Utu Jeremy stadium home ground.

The Utu Jeremy stadium is the Sabi Abacha Stadium of Nigerian National league football. Yes this venues are constantly in the news for Hooliganism and violent conduct . It is a usual thing to hear cases of Hooliganism from this venues.

The time to come hard on every case of Hooliganism and violent conduct is now. Huge point deductions , outright demotion and life ban for defaulters will pass a message that it is no longer business as Usual.

We must take action to rid our football of this shameful scorge if we really want our leagues to grow . SAY NO TO PAMPERING OF HOOLIGANISM AND VIOLENT CONDUCT.
