Ibom Angels knock out Delta Queens in President Federation Cup
Ibom Angels FC have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 President Federation Cup after defeating Delta Queens FC 1-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Saturday, 3rd May.
The only goal of the match came in the 39th minute, courtesy of Ugobest Osuji, whose strike proved to be the match-winner.
Led by experienced coach Edwin Okon, Ibom Angels showed strong determination and discipline throughout the Round of 16 clash, putting up a solid performance against a tough Delta Queens side.
The Orange Ladies had earlier stunned fans with a 17-0 win over Sporting Angels FC in the Round of 32, and their latest victory confirms their ambition to go far in this year’s tournament.
Delta Queens, who had beaten Jacklin Queens FC to reach this stage, were unable to break through the well-organised Ibom Angels defence.
Ibom Angels, two-time finalists in the competition, will now look ahead to the quarter-finals with confidence as they continue their quest for a first President Federation Cup title.
