Ibrahim Gusau Steps Down as WAFU B President, New Leader Appointed

Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau has stepped down as President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.

Gusau’s exit from the NFF presidency has also brought an end to his time as head of the regional football body.

Colonel-Major Oumarou Sawadogo of Burkina Faso has now taken over as the new President of WAFU Zone B.

WAFU B confirmed Sawadogo’s appointment in a statement welcoming him to the position.

“Congratulations to President Oumarou Sawadogo!

“We are pleased to welcome Colonel-Major Oumarou Sawadogo to the Presidency of WAFU-B.

“We wish him great success in this new role and look forward to working together to advance West African football,” the regional body said.

Gusau had served as WAFU B president while also leading the NFF before his recent departure from the Nigerian football federation.

Sawadogo will now lead the regional body as it continues its work to develop and promote football across the WAFU B zone.
