Iga Świątek continues Cincinnati run with Straight-Sets win over Diane Parry
Iga Świątek is through to another Cincinnati quarterfinal after beating Diane Parry 6-3, 6-3 on Wednesday.
The defending champion has now reached the quarterfinals in Cincinnati for the fourth consecutive year, continuing her remarkable consistency at the tournament. She has also won nine matches in a row and eight straight in Cincinnati.
The victory comes just days after Świątek won the Canadian Open for her first title of the season and has continued to build momentum in Cincinnati.
She also arrived in Ohio as the defending champion, having won the tournament last year.
Against Parry, Świątek stayed in control for most of the match, taking both sets 6-3 and booking her place in the last eight.
Świątek will now face the winner of Elena Rybakina and Diana Shnaider in the quarterfinals.
