Iga Swiatek cruises past Podoroska to reach US Open Third Round
Iga Swiatek has reached the third round of the US Open after beating Nadia Podoroska 6-3, 6-2.
The Polish star earned her 35th win of 2026 and has now won 12 of her last 13 matches. She also continues an incredible Grand Slam streak, becoming the only player, man or woman, to reach the third round or better at every Grand Slam since 2020.
Swiatek has been one of the most consistent players on tour for years, and she once again looks ready for another deep run in New York.
Away from the tennis, Swiatek was asked about her love of LEGO sets and the difficulty of travelling with them. She revealed that the biggest set she has built was a Disney castle.
“Honestly traveling with Lego’s is the hardest part of the whole process. If I wanna take the set back home, there’s 99% probability it’s gonna fall apart in the plane. It’s pretty durable but not to travel.”
She added:
“Everybody is laughing at me when I just walk through the airport with a Lego set in my hand. No one does that . But these sets are too nice. I don’t wanna leave them at the hotels.”
