Joe Aribo is a top player – Southampton manager
Manager of English Championship side Southampton, Martin Russell has showered praise on Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo, hailing him as a top player.
Aribo has emerged as a key player for the club as they strive for promotion back to the Premier League.
His impactful performances were instrumental in Southampton’s recent victories over Coventry and Watford FC in the league.
Speaking highly of Aribo’s contributions, Martins commended his excellence on the pitch despite limited playing time following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“He has been excellent. Although he hasn’t played a huge amount of minutes since returning from the AFCON, his recent performances have been outstanding,” Martins remarked.
Acknowledging Aribo’s talent and adaptability, Martins emphasised the midfielder’s resilience in regaining form after a brief hiatus from competitive football.
“Joe is a top player. Despite a period of adjustment upon his return, he has showcased his quality in the last few games,” Martins added.
Aribo’s impactful presence has been felt in 31 appearances across all competitions this season, contributing three goals to Southampton’s campaign.
