John Fashanu Wants to Coach the Super Eagles

Former England international, John Fashanu, has said he would like to become the coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Fashanu, who used to play as a striker for Aston Villa and Norwich City, believes he has the experience and ability to lead the three-time African champions.

“I want to manage the Super Eagles. It’s one of the toughest jobs in the country, but I believe I can do it – especially with the right team around me, people who understand football,” he said while speaking to journalists in Ogun State in a video shared on X.

The 62-year-old was born in England to a Nigerian father and a British mother. He played for the England national team twice.

Fashanu once ran for the position of president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

At the moment, the Super Eagles are being coached by Malian manager Eric Chelle.
