Josep Bartomeu: Neymar to sign new five-year deal at Barcelona in “next few days”
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has quelled rumours surrounding Neymar‘s future by revealing that the Brazilian will sign a new five-year contract in the “next few days”.
The 24-year-old has been linked with big-money moves to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Catalan giants have been in talks with Neymar for some time regarding fresh terms, and it appears that negotiations are reaching a conclusion.
According to The Mirror, Barcelona are planning to make it harder for rival clubs to poach their star attacker by increasing Neymar’s release clause to around €230m (£190.2m).
In a press conference on Friday, Bartomeu told reporters: “Neymar doesn’t want to leave Barca and in the next few days we’ll confirm that he is going to stay for five more years.”
