Kano Pillars: No Social Media Campaign Will Distract Us From Returning to Glory

Kano Pillars FC have insisted that no social media campaign will distract the club from its ambition of returning to its glorious days.
The club made this known in a statement issued by its management following reports that the team’s bus broke down, leaving some players stranded after their recent 1-1 draw against Kun Khalifat FC.
The management said it had noticed a social media campaign allegedly aimed at damaging the club’s image and distracting the team from its ongoing 2026/2027 EUROMATCH-NPFL campaign.
While acknowledging the right of supporters to express their opinions, the club said it was important to correct what it described as misleading claims about its operations.
Kano Pillars explained that the team had played 12 league matches, earned 19 points and suffered just one defeat so far this season.
On concerns about the team’s travelling arrangements, the management revealed that it had provided air transportation for the players on three of their six away trips this season.
The club explained that the team travelled by air from Kano to Lagos before proceeding to Ibadan for their rescheduled Matchday 3 fixture against Shooting Stars. After the match, the team also took a connecting flight to Jos ahead of their game against Plateau United.
The management added that the team’s trip to Lagos for the fixture against Inter Lagos was also by air.
However, the club confirmed that the away matches against Kwara United in Ilorin, Warri Wolves and Kun Khalifat were honoured by road.
Reaffirming its commitment to improving the club, the management said it was determined to move Kano Pillars forward after some difficult seasons.
“Our ambition is clear; to restore Kano Pillars to its glorious years and re-establish the club among the leading forces in Nigerian football,” the statement read.
The management also insisted that the team would not lose focus because of criticism or attempts to undermine the club.
“The unity, determination and togetherness within the team are stronger than ever before,” it added.
The club urged its supporters to remain calm, united and continue to support the team, stressing that its attention remains on the pitch, where results will speak for themselves.
