Knicks Beat Pacers to Stay Alive in NBA Playoffs

The New York Knicks have kept their season alive with a strong 111-94 win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday morning.

With this victory, the Knicks now trail 3-2 in the series, which will go to a sixth game on Saturday. The win also ended the Pacers’ four-game streak of winning series-deciding matches — their best run in club history.

Star guard Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 32 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 24 points and 13 rebounds. The pair made history as only the second duo ever to each score 20 or more points in the first five games of a Conference Finals. Brunson also had five assists, becoming just the third player to record ten games with at least 30 points and five assists in a single playoff run before reaching the NBA Finals.

Indiana had a tough night on offence, with only one starter, Pascal Siakam, scoring in double figures (15 points). Tyrese Haliburton had a quiet game with just 8 points from 2-of-7 shooting. In total, the Pacers’ starting five scored only 37 points — the second-lowest by any team’s starters in this year’s playoffs.

The Knicks will now try to force a decisive Game 7 as they aim to win more than one elimination game in a single postseason for the first time since 2000.
