LeBron James to miss 1-2 weeks of NBA action with injury

LeBron James, the star player for the Los Angeles Lakers, is expected to be out for at least one to two weeks due to a groin injury.

According to ESPN, James will rest his groin injury on Sunday and undergo another evaluation, but the Lakers are preparing to be without him for some time and will take a cautious approach, as they currently hold third place in the Western Conference.

James left the Lakers’ loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday with 6:44 remaining in the fourth quarter and did not return to the game.

After the match, James played down the injury, saying there was “not much concern” and that he would take it “day by day” in terms of treatment.

In the 2018-19 season, James missed 17 games after suffering a torn groin on Christmas Day.

“I’ve been there before, and I know what kind of injury it is,” James said on Saturday.

The Lakers now face a tough run of fixtures, with six games in the next eight days, including two matches against both the Denver Nuggets and the Milwaukee Bucks.

James, 40, has played in 58 of the Lakers’ 62 games so far this season, averaging 25 points, 8.5 assists, and 8.2 rebounds, shooting 51.7% from the field and 38.4% from three.
