Lyon confirm West Ham United bid £30.9m for Alexandre Lacazette

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has confirmed that the club have rejected a £30.9m bid from West Ham United forAlexandre Lacazette.

The Hammers are believed to be one of a number of clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, interested in the striker, who scored 20 goals this season.

Aulas has confirmed that West Ham have made a big-money offer, but the French outfit have no plans to sell Lacazette unless an offer that they “cannot refuse” is tabled.

“I told Alexandre Lacazette is made to stay in Lyon,” Aulas told Le Progres. “I saw that his brother was speaking a lot and I do not want to start like last year. To make a sale, it is necessary that the three parties agree. We wish to keep him. In order to make a sale, all three parties need to be in agreement.

“We have refused several offers, with the largest being that of West Ham for €40m (£30.9m). I want to keep him but there is no certainty because he will decide in the end.

“I do not want a 28th August situation, as we have qualified for the Champions League, we find ourselves in the same situation as Monaco with Anthony Martial. If there is an offer that we cannot refuse, he will come see me and then that is it.”

The 24-year-old made his senior debut for Lyon in 2010 after joining the club’s academy seven years previous.
