Mike Tyson eyes Anthony Joshua showdown after Jake Paul fight
Legendary boxer Mike Tyson is gearing up for a highly anticipated return to the ring, facing Jake Paul in a contentious match scheduled for November. This marks Tyson’s first fight since his bout with Roy Jones Jr. during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the upcoming clash with Paul, Tyson, 57, has expressed a strong interest in taking on former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in a charity match. Tyson believes such a match could significantly benefit charitable causes.
When asked about the possibility of facing Joshua, Tyson told TMZ, “I’m very interested. If doing that means we can have a bigger charity exponent, well so be it, I’m down to do that, too. I would love to [fight Joshua]. That would be mind-blowing.”
Before Tyson can contemplate a charity match with Joshua, he must first overcome Jake Paul. The fight with Paul was initially scheduled for July 20 but was postponed to November 15 due to Tyson’s medical situation. The upcoming bout has already generated significant buzz, with fans expressing mixed reactions to Tyson facing the much younger Paul.
Anthony Joshua, who remains a major figure in the heavyweight boxing scene, last fought in March. He secured a decisive victory against Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, in a bout held in Saudi Arabia.
With Tyson’s potential charity match against Joshua on the horizon, the boxing world eagerly awaits the outcome of his November fight with Jake Paul. If Tyson emerges victorious, a showdown with Joshua could become one of the most talked-about events in boxing, drawing attention not only for the sport but also for its charitable impact.
