Mikel & Boro’s play-off hopes fading away after four consecutive home losses
Adam Webster 31st minute strike condemned Mikel Obi’s Middlesbrough to a 1-0 home loss in a championship game on Tuesday.
The loss is Boro’s fourth straight home loss and their fifth straight loss which is a big blow to their play-off hopes.
Mikel Obi was in action all through the game but was unable to make any impact that will stop his side from their fifth straight defeat.
With the loss to Bristol City who has moved into the play-off zone, Boro have now lost five straight games; 1-2 to Brendtford, 1-2 to Preston, 0-3 to Aston Villa, 0-1 Norwich City, O-1 Bristol City.
Another home loss to Bristol City at Riverside meant four of the loses were at home with just one being away from home.
This is the first time since 1996 that Boro will be losing four consecutive home games.
Of 18 possible points in their last six games, Boro have just one point which is the reason they have dropped to 8th position with 58 points.
