NBA Playoffs Day 16 recap: Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks win

On day 16 of the NBA playoffs, the Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks emerged victorious in their respective games.

The Timberwolves secured a commanding 2-0 series lead against the Denver Nuggets with a dominant 106-80 win.

Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns led the charge with 27 points each, propelling Minnesota to victory. Despite the absence of Rudy Gobert, the Timberwolves managed to contain Nikola Jokić and the Nuggets’ offense, advancing to a perfect 6-0 record in the postseason.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Conference semifinals, the New York Knicks staged a remarkable fourth-quarter comeback to defeat the Indiana Pacers 121-117. Jalen Brunson continued his impressive postseason performance with 43 points, including 21 in the fourth quarter alone.

Brunson’s stellar performance marked his fourth consecutive game with 40 or more points, a feat achieved by only a few NBA players, with Michael Jordan being the last to do so in 1993.

Donte DiVincenzo’s clutch 3-pointer with 40.4 seconds left secured the win for the Knicks, breaking a tie and giving them a permanent lead.

Despite a strong effort from Pacers’ players like Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner, the Knicks held on for the victory.

With the series now at 1-0 in favor of the Knicks, both teams will look to continue their momentum in the upcoming games.
