NBA Recap: LeBron James closes in on scoring record with 48-point haul, Tatum drops 51 for Celtics

Steph Curry inspires Warriors to win as Bucks, Grizzlies all win

LeBron James edged closer to the NBA scoring record as he helped the Los Angeles Lakers record a 140-132 win over the Houston Rockets. James scored 48 points in the game and Russell Westbrook added 24 points. Alperen Sengun scored 33 points for the struggling Rockets.

Boston Celtics claimed a 130-118 win over the Charlotte Hornets in their NBA encounter on Monday. Jayson Tatum led the scoring in the game with 51 points and Derrick White contributed 19 points. LaMelo Ball scored 25 points for the Hornets in the game.

Milwaukee Bucks picked up their 28th win of the season with their 132-119 win over the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks were without Giannis Antetokounmpo but Jrue Holiday led the scoring with 35 points and 11 assists. Bobby Portis contributed 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Myles Turner scored 30 points for the Pacers.

Golden State Warriors claimed a 127-118 win over the Washington Wizards to improve their record in the NBA to 22-22 this season. Steph Curry led the scoring with 41 points and Jordan Poole scored 32 points. Kristaps Porzingis scored 32 points for the Wizards in the game.

Toronto Raptors claimed a 123-121 OT win over the New York Knicks in their NBA clash. Fred VanVleet led the scoring for the Raptors with 33 points as Scottie Barnes added 26 points in the game. RJ Barrett scored 32 points for the Knicks.

Memphis Grizzlies claimed their 30th win of the season with a 136-106 win over the Phoenix Suns. Ja Morant scored 29 points and Desmond Bane scored 28 points in the game. Mikal Bridges scored 21 points for the Suns.

Cleveland Cavaliers picked up a 113-103 win over the New Orleans Pelicans to improve to 28-17 this season. Darius Garland scored 30 points and 11 assists, and Jarrett Allen scored 24 points and 11 rebounds. CJ McCollum scored 25 points in the game.

Atalanta Hawks defeated the Miami Heat 121-113 to improve to 22-22 in the NBA. Dejounte Murray scored 28 points and Trae Young scored 24 points for the Hawks. Jimmy Butler scored 34 points for the Heat.

Utah Jazz claimed a narrow 126-125 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in their NBA meeting on Monday. Jordan Clarkson scored 21 points for the Jazz and rookie Walker Kessler had 20 points and 21 rebounds.
