The Super Eagles of Nigeria have ended the calendar year unchanged after the latest FIFA Rankings was released today.
Nigeria maintained the positions they had in their previous month at both International and African level.
The three-time African champions remained 36th in the world with Belgium maintaining their number 1 position, (2) Brazil, (3) France, (4) England, (5) Argentina, (6) Italy (7) Spain (8) Portugal (9) Denmark and (10) Netherlands occupying the top 10.
While they remained 36th in the world they remained 5th Africa after (20) Senegal, (28) Morocco, (29) Algeria, and (30) Tunisia.
These teams will be seeded for next year’s World Cup Play-off draw.
Nigeria who ranked 5th in the world in April 1994 would be looking to win the AFCON title so they can rise in the new ranking.
The 1994 ranking remains Africa’s highest FIFA ranking until date.
