Nigeria vs Libya: Super Eagles goalkeepers Nwabali and Obasogie arrive in Uyo for AFCON Qualifiers
Super Eagles goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Amas Obasogie arrived in Uyo on Monday ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Libya.
Former Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie was the first Eagle to arrive in camp for the double-header before first-choice goalie Stanley Nwabali arrived later in the evening.
However, not all invited players managed to make it to camp on the same day. Some players faced travel delays due to flight issues.
According to Super Eagles camp sources, Wilfred Ndidi and Benjamin Tanimu were unable to reach Uyo on Monday as planned after their Ibom Air flight was repeatedly delayed and eventually cancelled. The flight, initially scheduled for 3 pm, was delayed several times before the cancellation.
Both players, along with assistant coach Daniel Ogunmodede, who was also affected, had to spend the night in Lagos. The trio is now expected to arrive in Uyo on Tuesday morning.
The Super Eagles squad is gathering in Uyo ahead of their crucial double-header against Libya as they aim to secure qualification for the 2025 AFCON.
