Nigerians Abroad: Mfon Udoh bangs six goals to inspire Cup final place for new club

Mfon Udoh will always score goals. That he has proven from his time in the Nigeria Professional Football League, now the forward is banging goals in Bangladesh.

Udoh joined Sheikh Russell KC on October 8, 2022 from fellow Bangladesh Premier League side Saif Sporting Club following a successful 2021/2022 season.

Mfon Udoh banged six goals to inspire his new club Sheikh Russell KC to the final of the 2022 Independence Cup in Bangladesh.

The Nigerian international continued his fine goalscoring form in Bangladesh, his first season (at Saif Sporting Club) producing 11 goals and 7 assists in 17 appearances.

For Sheikh Russell KC , Mfon Udoh scored 6 goals and laid on 3 others as the Dhaka based club marched to the Independence Cup Final.

Reigning Bangladesh Premier League Champions Bashundura Kings were their last hurdle to the title in the final match on Monday December 5, 2022.

Sheikh Russell KC fell to a 2-4 penalty shootout loss after a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time, former Akwa United FC forward Mfon Udoh on the scoresheet for his 6th goal of the competition.

For his displays at the 2022 Independence Cup, Udoh was named Footy Bangladesh player of the tournament.
