Nikola Jokić makes NBA history with unbelievable 30-20-20 game

Nikola Jokić just did something no player in NBA history has ever done. On March 7, 2025, the Denver superstar recorded an incredible 31 points, 21 rebounds, and 22 assists in a 149-141 overtime win against the Phoenix Suns. This made him the first player ever to achieve a 30-20-20 triple-double.

Jokić’s assists matched Wilt Chamberlain’s all-time record for the most by a center in a single game. It was also his 29th triple-double of the season and the 159th of his career, proving once again why he’s one of the best in the league.

Before this, only two players had ever recorded a 20-20-20 game: Chamberlain in 1968 and Russell Westbrook in 2019. Jokić took it to another level by adding 30 points, setting a new NBA benchmark.

Throughout the game, Jokić received significant support from his teammates. Aaron Gordon tied his career best with seven 3-pointers and finished with 27 points, Christian Braun scored 25 points, and Jamal Murray contributed 19 points and eight assists

On the Suns’ side, Devin Booker led with 34 points and seven assists, while Kevin Durant had 29 points and nine rebounds. Despite Phoenix’s efforts, Denver held on in overtime, thanks to clutch plays from Jokić and Braun.

This historic performance further proves Jokić’s status as one of the NBA’s premier players and strengthens his case for a potential fourth MVP award. And with performances like this, he continues to redefine what’s possible in basketball.
