‘ Not just a friendly game ‘ – Super Eagles defender speaks about Nigeria vs Ghana clash
Ahead of today’s International friendly game, Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo emphasised that the upcoming match against eternal rivals Ghana will not be treated as a friendly encounter.
The West African giants are set to face off once again at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, Morocco, on Friday, March 22, renewing their age-old battle for supremacy.
Omeruo stressed that matches between Nigeria and Ghana are typically anything but friendly affairs, underscoring the competitive nature of their encounters.
Reflecting on the team’s preparations for the highly anticipated fixture against Otto Addo’s men, Omeruo expressed satisfaction with the training sessions and camaraderie within the squad. “Preparation has been great,” he stated. “It’s good to be back in camp again after the AFCON. I’m happy to see the likes of Ndidi, who was missing, and the other boys again.”
The Kasimpasa defender highlighted the team’s focus on training and tactical preparation in anticipation of the match. “We are training and working hard, working on our tactics to win this game,” Omeruo remarked. “You know it’s usually not a friendly game against Ghana. We are ready and will go all out to win the game.”
With kickoff scheduled for 5 pm Nigeria time.
