NPFL coaches laud Finidi George’s appointment as Super Eagles Interim coach
Technical adviser of Remo Stars, Daniel Ogunmodede has hailed the appointment of Finidi George as the interim coach of the Super Eagles, seeing it as a positive development for coaches in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
In an interview with the Duchess of Sport, Ogunmodede expressed his excitement over Finidi’s appointment, stating that it reflects positively on the NPFL and its coaches.
“As the general secretary of NPFL club managers, I’m delighted with Finidi’s appointment as the Interim coach of the Super Eagles,” Ogunmodede remarked. “It’s a great representation and enhances our image.”
He emphasized the significance of having one of their own leading the senior national team, noting Finidi’s victory in his first match in charge as an encouraging sign.
“For us as managers in the league, we see this as a promotion for our profession as coaches,” Ogunmodede continued. “His appointment serves as a beacon of hope for local coaches, demonstrating that we are also capable. His successful debut match is proof of that, and we hope for a repeat performance in the upcoming game.”
Finidi George is set to guide the Super Eagles in their next friendly encounter against Mali, further solidifying his role as the interim coach.
