Ortiz targeting title fight with Wilder

Luis Ortiz has set his sights on a world title fight with Deontay Wilder, should he overcome Malik Scott on Saturday.

The undefeated Cuban heavyweight has a record of 25-0 with two no contests, winning 22 of his bouts by knockout.

Ortiz has been talked up as a potential opponent for IBF world champion Anthony Joshua, but instead wants to settle a score with the 37-0 WBC champion Wilder, who has recorded stoppages in 36 of his fights.

“Over the next 12 months, on my list first would be Deontay Wilder, he’s talking s***,” Ortiz told Sky Sports.

“Other than that, the big names – Fury, Joshua, anybody who has a belt.

“I definitely don’t do a lot of talking, it’s not what I do. Sometimes I get a little nervous when people ask questions, because I don’t understand.

“What I do is box. I don’t like to talk. On fight night, I just like to come and fight.”

Ortiz faces Scott, who has only lost twice in 41 fights, in Monte Carlo.
