‘Osimhen In place of Rashford’ – Manchester United plot January shakeup
Manchester United have struggled in the Premier League this season and are currently nine points off the Champions League spots and so are planning a shakeup that could see Marcus Rashford leave while Victor Osimhen arrives at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have scored just 21 goals in 17 league matches, and manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly unhappy with his attacking options.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, United are already in talks with the representatives of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen over a potential January transfer.
The 25-year-old could easily agree personal terms with United, but Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is expected to demand the full £62 million release clause for the striker.
Osimhen is currently on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray for the season. However, his loan deal includes a clause allowing Napoli to recall him if they agree to sell him during the January transfer window.
While United are keen on signing Osimhen, any deal would likely require ‘significant departures’ from Old Trafford to balance the squad and finances. Amorim is also reportedly looking to strengthen the team’s midfield and left-back positions.
