Osimhen reveals how Ghanaian fans harrassed and attacked Super Eagles bus in Kumasi
Team bus held in traffic for 45 minutes
Victor Osimhen has said that the Super Eagles bus was attacked by Ghanaian fans at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi the venue of the FIFA World Cup playoff first leg encounter.
The Napoli striker in an interview with Elegbete TV Sports revealed that the Ghanaian fans did more than just hit their bus but also made threatening gestures.
Victor Osimhen who was on the pitch the entire duration of the game also revealed that the team didn’t even inspect the field before playing as they were held in traffic for 45 minutes.
“The experience in Ghana is a bit understandable due to the African thing, but it was surprising when we landed and we had to jump down and some of us carried big hand luggage which was quite stressful for us.
“When I first saw it it was really funny but at the end of the day, it was a good experience.
“From our hotel to the stadium is about 25-30 minutes so on getting there, there was a huge Ghanaian crowd, screaming at us, hitting our bus, and making signs.
“We were in the traffic for like up to 45 minutes before we got to the dressing room and when we got to the dressing room, it wasn’t up to 20 minutes, then Yobo came to us we had to go out.
“We didn’t even inspect the pitch like a normal game day but we are used to these kinds of things so we were not really bothered about that. It was really not professional.”
These things can be added to some of the ‘five dirty tactics‘ we wrote about in our previous article.
Nigeria and Ghana go head-to-head in the second leg to be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Tuesday. The winner of this clash will represent Africa in Qatar.
these are lies …their buses had police escort and motorcade to ensure they did not sit in any vehicular traffic. It is interesting that , Osimen is the only person blabbing.
