Ottmar Hitzfeld wants ‘man on fire’ Arsene Wenger to win Champions League with Arsenal

Former Bayern Munich manager Ottmar Hitzfeld has said he wants Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who tagged ‘the man on fire’ to win the Champions League before he retires.

Ottmar Hitzfeld who has won the trophy with the big ears on two different occasions, with Borussia Dortmund in 1997 and Bayern Munich in 2001 is one of the five managers to have won the title with two different clubs Ernst Happel, Jose Mourinho, Jupp Heynckes and Carlo Ancelotti are the others.

The German talked highly of Arsene Wenger saying he has nothing but respect for the Frenchman and he hopes his dream of winning the only title still eluding him come true.

“I admire Arsene Wenger.”

“I have nothing but huge respect for a coach which exposes himself to this amount of pressure at a top club for so many years on a daily basis, rebuilding the team every year. I could imagine that he will go on after this season. He’s still on fire. His biggest goal still is winning the Champions League. And I would like to see that happen to him.”

Arsene Wenger and Arsenal will tackle Bayern Munich in the round of 16 today at the Allianz Arena in Germany and if Wenger must actualize his dream of winning the champions league he must cross this big hurdle.
