Sevilla’s Grzegorz Krychowiak link up with Unai Emery at PSG

Grzegorz Krychowiak has completed a deal to join Paris Saint-Germain from Sevilla, signing a five-year contract in the French capital.

The 26-year-old arrived at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan from Reims in 2014 and made 90 appearances for the Liga outfit, helping them to two Europa League titles.

The midfielder caught the eye as Poland reached the Euro 2016 quarter-finals in France and scored the winning penalty in the last-16 shootout victory over Switzerland.

The deal sees Krychowiak link up with former Sevilla boss Unai Emery, who has taken over from Laurent Blanc as PSG coach.

“I am very proud to return to France and defend the colours of a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain,” Krychowiak told the club’s website.

“The opportunity to continue working with Unai Emery was obviously a major factor in my decision. I have joined Paris to live very strong emotions and with the ambition of winning as many trophies as possible.

“I am looking forward to this exciting next step in my career.”

Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi added: “I am very satisfied to see Grzegorz Krychowiak join our club.

“He has been very successful over the past two seasons with Sevilla FC, especially in European competition, and has been one of the standout performers at UEFA Euro 2016.”

A Sevilla statement read: “Sevilla FC appreciates his outstanding commitment during the two seasons he has played for the team and we wish him all the best in his new career.”
