The Poland international still has three-and-a-half years on his current deal, but he could sign a new contract to ward off any interest this summer.

Lewandowski’s agent has said that initial talks have been held and the player appears open to remaining in Munich for the foreseeable future.

“I know there is interest for me abroad, but I can well conceive of extending due to a great team and good teamwork – because the club is known to recognise achievements,” Lewandowski told German publicationBild.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have been linked with the 27-year-old, who has scored 31 goals in 31 games in all competitions this season.
