Russell ´sick´ about Iggy Azalea’s video leak

D’Angelo Russell says he has no idea how it got out, but he is sorry for the leaked video that is causing problems in the Los Angeles Lakers’ locker room.

The rookie says he is “sick” that his video of team-mate Nick Young talking about his relationships with women outside of his fiancee, Iggy Azalea, was made public on Wednesday.

“I am sick,” Russell told The Vertical.

“I am sorry about recording the video. I can’t repeat myself enough on that: I am sorry I recorded that video. I feel horrible. I wish this never happened.”

Russell, the second overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft, said he did not know how the video got out.

He said that he and Young often record their off-court moments.

“Honestly, I have no idea,” Russell said.

“Me and Nick, that’s our friendship: We play around a lot. Anyone who knows him and knows me, they know that about us.

“But I apologise for recording that video. I never intentionally wanted to hurt anyone. I never wanted what was said in there to get out. It was my fault that it did, but that was never intentional.”

Russell said he has apologised to Young, but realises that all will not be forgiven overnight – if ever.

Young, speaking with Russell to reporters before Wednesday’s game, read a statement and did not take any questions.

“I don’t want to get into my personal life right now,” Young said.

“I think it’s best me and D’Angelo handle the situation we have in a private matter, outside of the media.

“I think it’s something we do need to sit down and talk about and that’s about it. What happened is what happened. We’ve got to work on it.”
