Salah sends warning to Mane and Senegal ahead of WC Playoff games
Urges Egypt teammates to avenge AFCON lose
Mo Salah has urged his Egyptian teammates to forget about the AFCON final loss and switch their focus to March World Cup playoff games against Senegal.
The West African nation, Senegal, were 4-2 winners on Sunday against their Northern African opponents, Egypt, in the 2021 AFCON final.
Both teams will face off again in March over two-leg with the first to take place in Cairo and the second Dakar to determine who picks a ticket to Qatar 2022.
And Mo Salah has reportedly told his teammates to move on and focus on the games as they present a chance for instant revenge.
“I want to thank you for these performances, you all gave your best,” Salah told the players in the dressing room.
“We played four matches of 120 minutes each in about 12 days.
“I know it’s mentally difficult for us, of course, but it’s over.
“We have another round in a month, and god willing, we will get our revenge from them,” he concluded.
The games might be a repeat of the AFCON finals as Senegal seems to have too much firepower for Egypt, but in football, any team can beat any team.
