Salernitana sign Nigerian youngster Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi
Former youth international joins Serie A side from NK Celje
Former Flying Eagles striker Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi has sealed a move to Serie A outfit Salernitana on a four-year deal, joining from Slovenian side NK Celje for a transfer fee of €1.8m.
Highly-rated striker Ikwuemesi has earned a move to Italy’s top-flight after impressing in his time with NK Celje. The 22-year-old marksman has already found the net twice in five appearances for the side this season before making the switch to Salernitana. He scored nine goals in 30 league appearances for the side last season, as well . He only moved to Celje last summer and has quickly earned a move to Italy with his quality performances.

Ikwuemesi becomes the second Nigerian player to move to Italy’s top-flight this summer after Samuel Chukwueze. The striker was linked with AC Milan before completing a move to Salernitana, instead.
The talented striker has signed a four-year contract with the option of a further year with the Salerno-based club and will be keen to make his mark in the club this season. He will wear the number 22 jersey at the club.
