Samson Adamu Arrives in Uganda for First Assignment as CAF General Secretary

Newly appointed Confederation of African Football (CAF) General Secretary, Samson Adamu, has arrived in Uganda for his first official assignment since his appointment.
Adamu arrived in the East African country with a team of CAF officials to inspect facilities ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The visit will also include high-level meetings and a special event, with CAF expected to provide more details later.
His arrival marks his first major assignment since he was confirmed as CAF’s substantive General Secretary at the organisation’s Executive Committee meeting on Thursday.
Adamu replaces Véron Mosengo-Omba, who recently took over as president of the Democratic Republic of Congo Football Federation.
The inspection is part of CAF’s preparations for the 2027 AFCON, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
