Samuel Chukwueze and Junior Adamu honoured by Akwa Ibom FA as scouting tournament ends in Uyo

The Akwa Ibom State Football Association (FA), led by Chairman Mr Samuel Umoh, has honoured Austria international and SC Freiburg forward Junior Adamu, his parents, and Super Eagles and AC Milan star Samuel Chukwueze, following the successful completion of a two-day scouting tournament in Uyo.

The tournament, held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, was powered by Junior Adamu and designed to discover and nurture young football talent across Nigeria.

The Akwa Ibom State Football Association (FA), led by Chairman Mr Samuel Umoh, has honoured Austria international and SC Freiburg forward Junior Adamu, his parents, and Super Eagles and AC Milan star Samuel Chukwueze, following the successful completion of a two-day scouting tournament in Uyo.

In a show of appreciation and to create lasting memories, the Akwa Ibom FA presented special gifts to Chukwueze and the Adamu family, recognising their support and contribution to youth football development. The gesture also aimed to strengthen relationships and build goodwill that could further boost the growth of football in the state.

The maiden edition of the scouting tournament attracted teams from across the country and concluded with Canaan City FC of Cross River State emerging as champions, defeating Super Stars Academy in a tense penalty shootout. Ninchin FC secured third place.

There were also individual awards and cash prizes for standout performers, including Best Player of the Tournament, Best Goalkeeper, and Highest Goal Scorer, in addition to rewards for the top three teams.

The tournament has been widely praised as a promising step towards identifying grassroots talent and creating more opportunities for young Nigerian footballers.
