Saviour Godwin reveals Super Eagles ambition
Former Nigeria Youth International Saviour Godwin has revealed his ambition of working hard to be ready for opportunity to play for the Super Eagles.
The Casa Pia winger has excelled in Portugal`s top-flight, with a club-best 28 successful dribbles this term, Saviour wants more opportunities at International level after what he describes as a dream debut in September 2022.
“It was a dream come true to make my debut for the Super Eagles,” Saviour told Proxima Jornada.
“To mix up with the big boys was really amazing. Just imagining how my family, my friends, and my club teammates felt at that moment made me happy.
“I was happy to play, I was really excited. I really want to work hard during training and give my best. At any time when the opportunity comes, I’m always ready to represent my nation,” the 2013 U-17 FIFA World Cup winner added.
Saviour Godwin made his Super Eagles debut on September 27, 2022 in a 1-2 loss vs Algeria. He was introduced for Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman and showed flashes of the skills that helped him win the player of the season award in Portugal`s segunda division after helping Casa Pia secure top-flight promotion.
The next international window is in June, to get the attention of Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro, the 26-year old must finish the season on a high and possibly fire Casa Pia to a Europa Conference League spot after a fairly successful season.
