Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho extends Omonia Nicosia stay
Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has extended his contract with Crypriot club Omonia Nicosia, the club announced on Wednesday September 13.
Uzoho’s contract entered the final months of the contract he signed when he joined Omonia from city rivals APOEL Nicosia but the club has moved to extend his stay.
The Nigerian goalkeeper has signed an extension until 2027.
Omonia Nicosia announced the aggrement on its official website on Wednesday ” We reached an agreement with Francis Uzoho to extend our cooperation,”
” Francis Uzoho made 43 appearances for OMONIAS and had a significant contribution to the successes of recent years inside and outside Cyprus.
” The new contract runs until 2027″
“We congratulate Francis on his new contract and wish him even more success with the shamrock on his chest.” the statement read.
Meanwhile, 24-year old Uzoho just returned to Cyprus. He was in goal for his country, Nigeria for the 6-0 AFCON qualification spanking of Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday September 10.
Also announced by Omonia Nicosia on Wednesday was the signing of Uzoho’s compatriot Akinkunmi Amoo who joined from Danish Club FC Copenhagen.
