Nigeria held their nerve and scored all their spot-kicks to win the shootout 5-4.
The Unity Cup took place from 27 to 31 May in London. It was a colourful celebration of football and culture, bringing together teams from Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago. The event aimed to promote unity and pride among African and Caribbean communities living in the UK.
This year’s tournament was especially important, as it marked the return of the Unity Cup for the first time since 2004. Organisers and fans said it helped strengthen community ties and celebrate cultural heritage through sport.
