Super Eagles World Cup match ball unveiled
With just about seven months to the start of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, world football governing body FIFA have released the official match ball for the tournament.
The world’s biggest football showpiece is making a return, this time in Russia, and the match ball for the event has been officially released by FIFA.
The match ball is a Telstar 18, and has already received the endorsement of Argentina super star Lionel Messi.
“I was lucky enough to get to know this ball a bit earlier and I managed to have a try with it,” Argentina captain Lionel Messi said.
“I like all of it: the new design, the colours, everything,”
The Adidas ball is similar in design to the black and white ball which was used at the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, which featured great stars like Pele, Gerd Muller and Bobby Moore.
The black and white ball was introduced at the advent of black and white television so that viewers could pick it out on the screen.
