Super Falcons star Osinachi Ohale joins Mexican outfit Pachuca

Experienced defender earns move to Mexico

Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has completed a permanent move to Mexican outfit Club Pachuca Femenil following an outstanding showing at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Veteran centre-back Ohale was with Spanish side Deportivo Alaves before her fourth World Cup in Australia, and headed into the tournament with her place in the squad under threat due to the emergence of younger players in defence. The 31-year-old, however, showed great quality and leadership, featuring in every match as the Super Falcons fell in the Round of 16.

Ohale scored once in the tournament, the important go-ahead goal in the win against Australia in the group stage. She formed a rock-solid partnership with young defender Tosin Demehin at the Mundial, with the Falcons conceding just two goals in their four matches at the tournament.

The defender will join Tigres’ Uchenna Kanu in Mexico and will be hopeful of leaving her mark on the Mexican league in her time in the country.
