Tireless Alex Iwobi brilliant as Everton beat Man Utd to keep survival hopes
Super Eagles attacker Alex Iwobi put in a great shift to help Everton earn a deserving 1-0 win against Manchester United at Goodison Park in their bid for survival.
Anthony Gordon’s first-half strike was all that Frank Lampard and Everton needed to take all the points which could be a huge boost in their survival push.
Alex Iwobi who was one of Everton’s top performers on the day created the ball that led to the goal, in fact, he has been a new signing under the new gaffer, Frank Lampard.
The former Arsenal player who was employed behind the striker in the number 8 role did everything and more expected of him in the role.
Alex Iwobi as we all know can find pockets of space by playing the ball in behind the opposition defense, this he did against Manchester United.
He was not just involved in the transition play but helped when Everton were without the ball by charging from the front.
Alex Iwobi was basically everywhere on the pitch running his socks out and this was appreciated by the club’s Twitter page.
“This guy did not stop today 👏,” says a tweet on their official page.
Since Frank Lampard took over Everton’s manager, Alex Iwobi has looked reborn and brilliant, especially when playing in the number 8 role.
Everton remains 17th on the log 4 points ahead of Burnley who have played one game less, while Manchester United are also 5th on the log.
