The board of the Nigeria Nationwide League One -NLO has reversed it’s hastily reached decisions on the match involving Essien Ayi Fc Vs Fc Ona Pal .
The NLO Group D1 encounter between Essien Ayi Fc and Fc Ona Pal in Calabar on 17th June 2022 ended in a 1-1 draw but following video evidence of scuffles with the match officials at the end of the game a decision was reach to award 3 points and 3 goals in favour of the visitors Fc Ona Pal by the NLO board 48 hours later.
In a U-turn , the Nationwide League One Board has upon diligent investigation reversed it’s earlier decision. This is contained in a letter from the NLO board to all Group D1 clubs dated 8th July 2022.
The reversed decisions include;
1. The original scoreline Essien Ayi Fc 1-1 Fc Ona Pal is sustained . Fc Ona Pal will lose two points earlier added as a result of the intitial decision .
2. Essien Ayi Fc and it’s players are acquitted of the Violent conduct charges and are reinstated to play their home matches in Calabar though with a warning never to approach match officials at the end of games.
3. The earlier stipulated 100 thousand Naira fine is ruled out.
4. The bans on the following Essien Ayi Fc players Ene Joseph, Etim Imoh , Abraham Okon, Peter Idongesit , Otu Emmanuel , Eyo Ayitu are lifted with immediate effect and not to be counted against them.
Findings by SportsRation into reasons why the NLO board decided to overturn it’s earlier judgement were not duly addressed by members of the board.
However Sportsration can confirm a fraud report against the Chairman of FC Ona Pal Mr Obinna Paul , one Mr Jimoh Moshood identified as an uncertified coach working with Fc Ona Pal and Mr Slyvester Ene to the NFF/NLO/ICPC Fraud Unit.
The deduction will rip Fc Ona Pal of two points in the race for the sole Promotion slot in Group D1.
