Madrid rescue point as City win again
Super Eagles players Frank Onyeka and Sanusi Zaidu were in for their clubs as UEFA Champions League games returned today.
Sanusi Zaidu was on the pitch from the start to the end as FC Porto secured a hard-fought 2-0 win against Olympiacos at the Estadio do Dragao.
One cap Super Eagles midfielder, Frank Onyeka was also in action for FC Midtjylland who held Liverpool to a goaless draw in the first half but eventually fell 2-0 to the Premier League champions.
Liverpool, however, lost their make-shift defender Fabinho to an injury.
In Group A, Bayern Munich secured a 2-1 win against Lokomotiv Moscow at the RZD Arena to keep the reigning champions 13 games winning streak at the competition.
Leon Goretzka opened the scoring, Anton Miranchuk equalised for the home team before Joshua Kimmich strike sealed the win.
Joao Felix scored a brace to help Atletico Madrid secure a 3-2 win at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano as they bounced back from 4-0 loss to Bayern in their first game.
In Group B, it was goalless between Shakhtar Donetsk and Inter Milan in Ukraine while an Eden Hazard and Casemiro inspired Real Madrid secured a 2-2 comeback draw against Borussia Moenchengladbach.
In Group C, Sanusi Zaidu was in action as Porto beat Olympiacos 2-0 at the Estadio do Dragao. Pep Guardiola’s City trashed Andre Villas-Boas’ Marseille in France.
In Group D Atalanta and Ajax settled for a 2-2 draw while Frank Onyeka was in action for FC Midtjylland as Liverpool secured a 2-0 win against the Danish champions.
