Uzoho may reject French club offer for MLS move
Nigeria and Omonia Nicosia shot-stopper Francis Uzoho is subject of transfer interest from a French Ligue One club but will prefer a move to the MLS instead.
According to OWNGOALNIGERIA, Uzoho’s Cypriot club Omonia Nicosia have received a €2.2m offer from a yet to be identified French Ligue One club.
The 24-year old is reportedly keen for a move to America due to family reasons and so will jump at a move to the MLS where two clubs are quoted with interest in his services.
As Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper at the moment, a move to France for Uzoho will bring back memories of former Super Eagles goalkepeer Vincent Enyeama’s Ligue One exploits.
Enyeama represented Lille OSC in the French top flight . It was in Ligue One that Enyeama developed into one of the best African goalkepeers.
If given the opportunity, Enyeama will advice Uzoho to follow same path and hopefully develop in confidence, enough to tie down the Super Eagles first choice shirt for a long time, just like him.
Since his UEFA Europa league heroics at Old Trafford vs Manchester United in October 2022, Uzoho has seen his career take a fairly positive turn and is expected to leave Omonia Nicosia with three clubs monitoring his situation closely.
