Video: Mikel replaces Musa as Eagles captain
Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has replaced CSKA Moscow attacker Ahmed Musa as the Super Eagles captain. The pacy attacker told the press at the Ahmudu Bello Stadium, during the pre match conference for the AFCON Qualifier against Egypt.
“I know I don’t deserve it because I have senior colleagues ahead of me, that is why I have come to tell you I am not the Super Eagles captain right now, Mikel Obi is the new captain.
The news was welcomed by the gentle men of the press at the conference, the Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia echoed Ahmed Musa’s stance and was full of praise for Musa’s gesture.
“Well, Ahmed is a strong person, a great player and Super Eagles Captain for a while. So far he has come out to do the right thing, this is the right thing to do.
If you come first to a team you should be the captain, I thank Musa for the bold step and from the Egypt’s match Mikel will be the captain of the Super Eagles.
