Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has been shortlisted for the August Player of the Month award in Bundesliga after an impressive month. The striker featured in all of his side’s matches in the league last month and made an instant impact.
Boniface joined the German side from Union Saint-Gilloise for around €22m and settled into the club early. He marked his competitive debut with a goal in the DFB Pokal but has left his best performances this far for the Bundesliga.
The Super Eagles striker assisted in his league debut against RB Leipzig before scoring a brace in his side’s derby win over Borussia Monchengladbach. He added another brace in his side’s third league match against SV Darmstadt, as well.
Boniface has been nominated for the league’s Rookie of the Month award alongside Noah Atubolu and Xavi Simons, and has now received a nomination for the Player of the Month award.
The 22-year-old is joined in the shortlist by Bayern Munich stars Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies, as well as Union Berlin striker Kevin Behrens and Wolfsburg star Jonas Wind. The final nomination spot was taken by Leipzig defender Benjamin Henrichs.
