Wayne Rooney explains why he signed Nigerian striker for Plymouth
Newly appointed Plymouth Argyle boss Wayne Rooney has revealed the reasons behind the club’s decision to sign Nigerian forward Muhammad Tijani.
The Championship club recently announced the acquisition of the skillful attacker from Czech Republic side Slavia Prague.
Rooney, a former England international, highlighted Tijani’s athleticism and playing style as key factors that will enhance their team’s attack. He stated:
“Muhamed joining further strengthens our forward line and he will bring different attributes to the squad.
“He is big, athletic and can run in behind, but is equally as good at holding the ball up and bringing other players into play.
“He has played and scored in the Europa League so comes with a good pedigree but is also young and keen to improve. We are looking forward to working with him,” he said.
Rooney believes that Tijani’s combination of physicality and skill will add a much-needed edge to Plymouth Argyle’s offensive capabilities as they compete in the Championship.
