We want the world to love us – John Terry

Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted that he and his teammates just “want to be loved” by the outside world. The current Premier League champions have had a dire season so far having won just three of their 11 fixtures.

There have been reports that one first-team player is leading a revolt against manager Jose Mourinho, but that has been denied. Ahead of the Blues’ Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev this evening, Terry has claimed that he wants the rest of the world to be behind Chelsea.

“You listen and observe things that happen on the outside, for sure,” The Mirror quotes Terry as saying. “That’s where I want to be – we don’t want to be fighting the world. “You want to be loved, as an individual and as a club for what we’ve achieved in the game. We want grown-up, mens’ conversations with the referees. You can have those conversations.

“You want to be honest and open, deal with the bad and the good, and move forward. We want to be up there fighting for Premier Leagues, fighting for Champions League, and to be loved around the world. Not just in England.”

In the Premier League, Chelsea are currently 15th in the table.
