‘ We want to defeat Wydad just like they did In the first-leg ‘ – Enyimba skipper speaks ahead of Africa Football League quater-final 2nd-leg fixture

Enyimba FC skipper, Ojo Olorunleke says the People’s Elephants are in Casablanca to defeat Wydad just like they did in the first leg on Sunday.

Moroccan club, Wydad and Nigeria’s Enyimba FC will lock horns in a Africa Football League quater-final 2nd-leg fixture on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Recall that Enyimba FC stumbled 0-1 vs the Casablanca based three-time African Champions at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium In Uyo on Sunday, October 25.

Their journey to Casablanca for the return leg was not smooth either due to a delayed landing permit, reason CAF adjusted the match date from Wednesday October 25 to Thursday, October 26.

In his pre-match press conference on Wednesday night, Enyimba FC goalkeeper and captain Ojo Olorunleke was clear on the teams target.

He said ” We came here to achieve victory. We are ready and confident, we have spoken together,”

“We faced some difficulties and challenges before coming here,but we are a professional team and we can’t complain.

“We are here to win and qualify. We want to defeat Wydad like they did in the first leg,” the Nigeria International declared.

The Wydad Casablanca Vs Enyimba FC Africa Football League quater-final 2nd-leg fixture will kick-off at 7pm Nigeria time at the Stade Mohamed V. In Morocco on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

In the other Africa Football League quater-final fixture for the day, Esperance of Tunisia will host Tanzanian club TP Mazembe.

The maiden edition of the Africa Football League is played by eight teams with the quater-final serving as the opening round.
