Why Real Madrid picked Zinedine Zidane instead of Jose Mourinho

The reason behind the appointment of Zinedine Zidane instead of Jose Mourinho has been revealed.

Former Chelsea, Internet Milan and Manchester United manager was tipped for a return to Real Madrid, instead Zinedine Zidane was appointed as Santiago Solari replacement.

The decision came as good riddance to some while others who wanted the Portuguese to return questioned the decision.

Someone who is privy to decision making at Real Madrid, Ramón Calderón the former club President revealed why the record champions league champions picked Zidane instead of Mourinho.

“It’s a good choice. The other one was Mourinho, he told Sky Sports.

“But I think in the last few days the leaders of the dressing room have pushed to reject that possibility.

“He left here with a lot of problems. I think he would have been another problem added to the ones we already have. First of all it’s good to have him (Zidane) back as a coach.”
