Will Ghana sacrifice 7 m@d people to beat Nigeria just as they reportedly did in 2009?

Nigeria and Ghana go head-to-head in a bid to pick up a ticket for a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The match is much more than a fight for a place in Qatar 2022 as the winner would add another feather to their cap.

As both teams prepare for the games, a blast from the past has shown that Ghana can do anything to claim the ticket.

According to Joseph Langabell, a popular Ghanaian Blackstars fanatic the Black Satellites’ success at the 2009 Under-20 World Cup was aided by ritual.

In his bid to prove that ‘juju’ or ‘black magic’ or ‘voodoo’ works in a football game, Joseph Langabell revealed how he played a crucial role in Black Satellites’ success.

“I and Zakoko had to search the entire Cairo to find these mad people,” said Langabell on Max TV during a sports discussion.

“We started our journey and as soon as we see a mad person then we give them money and bread.

“After a long search, we were left with one female mad person. We search and search and search and we were tired.

“Then we saw 2006 a hotel we went to sleep that is Novotel so I told Zakoko we have been here before so we took a bus to Novotel and just as we got down I saw a woman who was pregnant so I told Zacoco that look she is mad.

“We went close to her and asked a man that we want to give the woman something and he said is a madwoman then I said that is it.

“So we give the woman money and bread. Zakoko knows Arabic so he always speaks to them in Arabic before we give them the bread and money and then we were set.

“When we got back to the hostel then we called Jordan and he asked us if we were set and we said yes and he said there is another sacrifice we need to make but for that, I won’t say it here.

“We did so many things I can’t say it here. So we did all that and the man that’s Jordan Anagblah’s father who was blind told us all that we will take the trophy.

“He said we will win the match but it will be difficult for us and he added that there will be two red cards in the match.

“Everything happened and by the grace of God we took the cup so when Aziz says there is juju it is true.”

Andre Ayew who has been caught on camera sprinkling special water in a game is currently the Black Star captain and was a member of the 2009 U-20 winning team.

This is something Nigeria is used to, back in 2001 during a world cup qualifier game between Nigeria and Sudan.

The Sudanese reportedly killed and buried cows on the El Meriekh Stadium, Omdurman, despite the ritual Nigeria ran out a 4-0 winner.

A brace from Yakubu Aiyegbeni, one each from Austin Okocha and Julius Aghahowa handed Nigeria the win that eased the qualification at the time.

The question is will the Black Stars go this route just as they did in 2009?

The first leg will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25 with the reverse fixture scheduled for the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on March 29th.
